What are choices? Choices are those decisive templates by which we live our lives. They are our daily premeditated actions, or decisive preferences. Of all the outfits packed in the diversity of your wardrobe, a black jean with a blue top was what you thought ideal to wear to a friend’s birthday party. That’s a choice. That’s your choice. You could have chosen another outfit, if you wanted to. Choices play cardinal roles in the forms that our lives take, as humans. As a matter of fact, choices are the greatest weapons in our material arsenals. With your choices, you can make your life, and with your choices, you can break your life. Sometimes last week, I was in my room in the night, seated on the rug and leaning on the sides of three mattresses stacked one atop the other. I was about to lift a spoon from the plate of rice in front of me, when the devil, like he has been doing for weeks now, flashed an ugly thought about my parents to my mind. I had been confronting this thought for a while now – and at times they break me down, but this night I spoke audible words against them. I quoted Jeremiah 29;11, and the Holy Spirit overwhelmed my mind with a dimension of light on this verse, that I had never discovered in fifteen years or more.
