Jayden’s Diary – Episode Finale

Jayden, the first thing I want you to know is that, the mental faculty that God has endowed you with is limited to this sphere, and can only be used to make sense of natural phenomena. Every effort to grasp the Person and Workings of God with mortal abilities always ends in futility.

So you see, the atheist guys are clearly seeking answers to the right questions but in the wrong place. You need the Spirit of God to know God. And please understand that regardless of the opinions of anybody about God, the Name of the Lord does not need protection from anybody, anybody at all. This has to inform your position in conversations that bring your Christian Faith to question. That way, you are able to present your truths intelligently, empathetically, and powerfully.

The Gospel of Jesus is a sufficient message. It is centered on Love. Love is the person of God, and the basis of everything He does. If God’s plan was to send people to hell, then John 3; 16 would be wrong, 1st Timothy 2;4 would be wrong. And the Word of the Lord cannot be wrong Luke 21; 33.

So, rather than analyzing how many people will go to hell because of their unbelief, why not channel that energy into evangelism and reach out to as many people as you can? Peter, rather than worry about the number of souls that would not be saved, stepped out in faith, preached the Gospel and won three thousand souls over to Christ on Pentecost Day. Just one day.

Furthermore, the Gospel cannot be equated with any other thing. Anybody can study well for their exams, and pass in flying colors. Anybody can be diligent in their business and make Forbes. But it takes a man who believes the message of the Gospel to receive Zoe, Eternal Life. Now, this is something you can find nowhere outside Christ.

The Gospel enriches people, but material riches are not all there are to the Gospel. If the center of Jesus’ Gospel is material success, then something does not add up, because an unbeliever can have all these things when the natural principles that command such results are simply obeyed.

In the message of the Gospel is something that cannot be found elsewhere but only in the Gospel. This is how you can see a group of students who are excellent in their academics, but do not believe the Gospel, and preach to them because you know, despite all of their ephemeral possessions, something larger than life is missing – JESUS, the Life of God – a relationship with the Father. You know what it means to have a right standing before God, to be at peace with Him? Romans 5;1.

And dear Jayden, understand that, daily, there is a pressure that seeks to conform us to the patterns of this world, and this is what spells out the need for us to always and constantly renew our minds. This consistent renewal is what transforms us, and deadens us to the ministry of the flesh, every time. Romans12; 2.

Imagine you had picked up your Bible to read before journaling the first time you said you did? The Holy Spirit would have illumined your mind, and lead you to a place of light about those questions. Imagine you had prayed first? An encounter in your dream could have been all the clarity you needed. Jayden Coker, do first things first, and last things last.

The last thing I will have you know is this: Be selective in your consumption of information. No, I’m not telling you to dodge questions, avoid conversations, or resist learning. Jesus wouldn’t have conversed with the Pharisees, if He would dodge critical questions, and avoid conversations like this.

You have an unction from the Holy one, and you know all things. Allow God’s Spirit to always work in and through you.

And let me tell you, Jayden, Jesus loves the atheists as much as He loves you and me.

That was it Diary. That was it! God used Ethan to reawaken my drowsy love for Him! I’m stuck for words. But that was it!

Bye for now.

2021: Wins, Losses, Lessons, & People.

I think my initial struggle to put these thoughts into words, is the best note on which to begin this content. My mind housed the desire to write this review, at least, three weeks before I would later bring myself into the action. And for a consummate writer as I like to believe of myself, this was a particular subject of worry for me throughout the year.  I wrote, at least, three articles – a thousand words minimum – every week from January through August, all of them being paid gigs. It’s scary how money can be a crazy sponsor for motivation, because here’s the thing – the contents I wrote for money were not ones I had a thing for. They were mostly technical topics, which demanded tremendous amounts of diligence in the way of research. Besides two blogs of my own, I volunteer on two other blogs, where I write on topics and to the kind of audience that make my heart flutter.   I can recall more than two instances where I tried writing something on these topics...

Choices and Metamorphosis

What are choices? Choices are those decisive templates by which we live our lives. They are our daily premeditated actions, or decisive preferences. Of all the outfits packed in the diversity of your wardrobe, a black jean with a blue top was what you thought ideal to wear to a friend’s birthday party. That’s a choice. That’s your choice. You could have chosen another outfit, if you wanted to.  Choices play cardinal roles in the forms that our lives take, as humans. As a matter of fact, choices are the greatest weapons in our material arsenals. With your choices, you can make your life, and with your choices, you can break your life.  I was conversing with a mentor some two weeks ago, and he asked me why I had not yet implemented some of the goals I had for life. The question reflexively triggered my defenses. I gave him all the genuine reasons I thought I had in the world, and he told me something. “If you keep looking for excuses, you will always find them, and guess ...

4 Enriching Lessons From Gideon

Gideon is one of the many icons in the Bible, whose life, leadership, and walk with God provide a clear example of what God can achieve through a willing man. He served as Israel’s fifth major judge, and his destruction of baal, the pagan god, earned him the name Jerub-Baal, meaning the destroyer of Baal. Gideon embodied a rich history of faith that is as edifying today, as it was many thousand years ago. In this piece of content, I share 4 central lessons that can be gleaned from the life of Israel’s fifth judge. 4 Enriching Lessons from Gideon 1.       God Looks Beyond You When the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon in verse 12 of Judges 6, he gave him a reference that exceeded the limits of his physical reality. He called Gideon a mighty man of valor. Another version refers to him as a mighty soldier. But, one would have asked how these labels of strength applied to a man who was clearly hiding in the bottom of a grane press ...
